The announcement of the retro-shooter The Hong Kong Massacre took place in the fall of 2017. But since then, the game has not been heard. And finally, the Swedish studio Verski came out to announce the imminent release of the game.

The Hong Kong Massacre is an action about shooting in a jump, stingy slow motion and a spectacular separation of everything and everyone. The developers are clearly inspired by the action films of the director John Woo - there is even a flock of pigeons in the new trailer.

A former detective cop who avenges his murdered partner is in the main role. The developers promises a cool story about the revenge, filled with brutal cinematic skirmishes and vivid, memorable locations.

Every shot at The Hong Kong Massacre is fatal, so you need to constantly dive through the windows, remember the shelters and use the environment to your advantage. Time slows down with the touch of a button, but this ability is limited: you still have to think very quickly.

The creators of The Hong Kong Massacre were inspired by the Hong Kong’s action movies of the 1980s and 1990s. Because of this, and because of the view from above, the game resembles the Hotline Miami. And due to the ability to shoot in slow time, Max Payne can be attributed to the number of sources of inspiration for the authors.

A two-person studio is working on the project, and The Hong Kong Massacre will be released on PS4 and PC very soon, on January 22.
