The growing PS4 cross-platform games list

The growing PS4 cross-platform games list ⚡⚡⚡ Esports and gaming news, analytics, reviews on WePlay! The latest news on WePlay!
After a lot of back and forth and stubbornness on Sony’s part, the Playstation 4 has joined the cross-platform party. With it enabled, gamers on different platforms from PC and the Xbox to the Nintendo Switch can all play together, if the game supports it.
Cross-platform games are very few in number, but they continue to grow, with Activision’s upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare the latest to bridge the divide between platforms. With the game’s popularity, it should definitely sell other developers on the idea of uniting their player base instead of keeping them apart.
Yet, before all the uproar, there were games on the PS4 that did enjoy a form of cross-platform play, even if they didn’t extend to all platforms. Games like Final Fantasy XIV, DC Universe Online and Street Fighter V have all had cross-platform play with PC years.
DigitalTrends was kind enough to create a great list of full and partial cross-platform games currently on the PS4. The list shows some gems you probably didn’t know had some form of cross-play and others that are on their way. Check them out for yourself:

Xbox Play Anywhere
Microsoft also has Xbox Play Anywhere which allows a couple of first-party games to be purchased once but provide a license for both the Xbox One and PC versions instead of just one of them. It’s very similar to the Playstation games that provided an additional PSVita digital copy when purchased. These are Microsoft’s Xbox Play Anywhere games:
Crackdown 3
Fable Fortune
Forza Horizon 3
Forza Horizon 4
Forza Motorsport 7
Gears of War 4
Gears 5
Gwent: The Witcher Card Game
Halo Wars 2
Killer Instinct
Sea of Thieves
State of Decay 2
Zoo Tycoon: Ultimate Animal Collection
All three lists will surely keep growing as new games are released while those already out get new updates to enable the functionality. The ability to play the most popular games with friends on other platforms has always been a dream since the 8-bit days of gaming, so it’s great to see that more games will be adopting it, now that Sony has opened their gates.
