Bethesda has released the list of recommended PC system specs for its upcoming horror, The Evil Within.

Among the standout requirements is a large section of your hard disk drive - 50GBs for the installation - and the larger-than-normal VRAM (video RAM) requirement of 4GB.

Here are the recommended PC specs:

64-bit Windows 7/Windows 8
Core i7 with four plus cores
4 GBs RAM
50 GB of hard drive space
GeForce GTX 670 or equivalent with 4GBs of VRAM
High Speed Internet Connection
Steam account and activation
According to Bethesda, "It's worth noting that the 50 GB of space required is for the PC install. When the installation is complete, the game will take up ~41 GB of HDD space."

It has also confirmed that the console versions of The Evil Within will take up 40GB of space on the high-end PS4 and Xbox One, and 7GB on PS3 and Xbox 360. The Xbox 360 version will feature a mandatory installation to the console hard drive or compatible USB stick.

Bethesda Softworks announced earlier today that The Evil Within has gone gold - the survival horror title's assets are complete and on their way to the manufacturing process.

Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami helmed the project, his first return to the genre since leading work on the influential Resident Evil 4.

The Evil Within release date is set for October 14 in North America and Europe on PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. The game will hit Australia on October 16, New Zealand on October 17 and Japan on October 23.
