PGL is one of the most prominent esports tournament hosts that has held multiple Dota 2 Majors. This year the company is holding a Minor which is significant but not the most critical part of the Dota Pro Circuit. The Bucharest Minor will be going on from January 9th to January 13th featuring eight teams from every competitive region.
Format
Each team won a qualifier in their respective regions: two from Europe, one from North America, one from South America, one from CIS, one from Southeast Asia and two from China. Only teams that didn’t qualify for the Chongqing Major were eligible for the Bucharest Minor.
- The first stage features two GSL-style groups.
- The winners of the groups (first and second place finishers) are seeded into the upper part of the double elimination bracket.
- The losers of the group (third and fourth place finishers) are seeded into the lower part of the double elimination bracket.

Prize pool
The tournament sports $300.000 prize pool and 500 DPC Points. Each squad is guaranteed at least 20 points and $7.500 per team. The winners get $125,000, 120 DPC point and the last slot at the Chongqing Major.
