The Best Terraria Mods ⚡⚡⚡ Esports and gaming news, analytics, reviews on WePlay! The latest news on WePlay!

Terraria is a 2d sandbox game that has many cool things to do, such as exploring, building, crafting and more. Even though the game is fairly new, the entire layout sort of resembles the old 16-bit style games. It is also very similar to Minecraft, especially in some areas.

Upon beginning, the player will be thrown into a procedurally generated world which means that you start with just the most basic tools - a pickaxe and a sword. This means that you need to move around and acquire the needed resources. There are many ways to do that but definitely the fastest ones are when you explore caves. Of course, some materials and items are a lot rarer than others, which means that you can only find them in certain areas.

You can use the resources for many things but one of the most common ones is just craft new items and equipment.  Having said that, there are special mods for this game that can make your life a lot easier if you decide to use them. In fact, it is highly advisable to use some of them, especially if you haven't played it for a long time. After all, the game gets tons of updates on a regular basis, so it's very easy to lose track of what's going on.

Let's take a look at some of the best Terraria mods that you can use right now. Some of them can add new soundtracks, item and many other things, which definitely make it very appealing.

The Tremor Mod

The first mod that definitely deserves your attention is "The Tremor Mod". In fact, many people are considering it to be one of the best Terrarria mods out there because it allows you to a near-total conversion unlike some of the other mods. Apart from customization, this mod has a total of 522 items that include weapons, NPCs, mobs, and six new bosses, making it a must for every fan of the game. In addition to that, Tremor adds bonus expert mode treasure which is one of the most well-hidden items in the game. This should be hard to find even for those who have been playing the game for a long time. Who knows, you might end up randomly getting your hands on it.

imkSushi's special crafting mod

Unlike the tremor mod, this one is mainly related to crafting as the name clearly suggests. The entire Terraria game is focused mainly on your character. By advancing in the game you will be able to learn new skills, which will help you survive in this hostile environment.

As we mentioned in our introduction, the crafting mechanism is very important in this game. Here is where the imkSushi's mode comes to play. Not only does it make the game look awesome but it also allows you to craft whatever you like without having to worry all that much. Of course, this can be seen as a way of "hacking" to some players but in reality, it just makes your life a lot easier. Now you don't need to grind 24/7 to find that special item in a chest just so you can craft it.

However, there are some players who prefer to do this,  which is totally fine. That said if you are more into action rather than exploring, this mod is definitely a must-have. After all, it will save you a lot of time.

TerraFirma mod

Even though this mod is not as exciting as the others we mentioned before, it is still very cool to have. This mod allows you to do your mapping the right way. To make it easily understandable, it basically allows you to have your map viewable at all time, without having you to go and check it specifically. In addition, it also enhances it in a way, allowing you to watch chests, search for statues and even other hidden gems across the map.

All in all, we definitely recommend it if you are into exploring because it will make your life a lot easier.

Terraria Overhaul Mod

Similar to some other mods here, this one also adds different things to the gameplay. It allows you to target pretty much everything in the game, ranging from player movement to electricity system and everything in-between.  So, if you ever wanted to learn more about certain aspects of the game, now is your chance to do so!

N Terraria mod

This is probably one of the most unique mods currently available. It basically transforms it into a fully-fledged RPG that has everything and we mean everything. You can choose from different classes, races, NPCs, levels, and even quests! Yes, you can actually do even quests in Terraria, how cool is that?!

So, if you ever felt bored and in need to try something new and unique, this is the mod for you. However, keep it in mind that it might make the game a little bit harder than usual but this is something that you just need to get used to.

TerraSavr mod

This is a very popular utility mod that lets you do many cool things such as add buffs to your items or even make your own new items. You can use this on pretty much everything in the game. You can even search for some additional information about a certain thing in the game that's interesting to you.

That said, unlike the other mods here, this one is web-based, which means that you need to have your browser up and running in order to use it. Don't worry if you feel a little bit confused in the beginning, you will get used to it in no time!

Thorium Mod

If there is one mode that we have to point at and call the best, it has to be Thorium. Think of it as Tremor but just a better version with more features, more enemies, more items, a new class, and many cool other surprises. In addition to that, this mod also enhances the various bosses that you meet along the way, giving them extra power and offensive capabilities. However, keep it in mind that they can be pretty tricky to kill, which is why it's important to know how to deal with them. Our advice will be to get more experienced at the game before using this feature.

Super Terraria World mod

As the name suggests, this is definitely a mod that you might be interested in it. In fact, unlike some of the other mods mentioned here, it has been around for some time now. Despite that, the devs are constantly adding new things to it, which is why we advise you to download it and check it out.

When you use it for the first time, you might be shocked by the changes but they are pretty cool. This mod basically transforms the game into an MMORPG which includes quests, NPCs, s skills and all other things that you can find in any modern MMO.

The best thing about this mod is that the developers have no intensions in quitting. They are even currently in the process of getting donations from the community in order to help them get the next update up and running.

So, if you like to have an entirely new experience without switching the game you love, this is definitely one of your best options.

tModLoader's mod

This is the last mod that we have on our list today. It is very different compared to the others because it allows you to create mods of your own. So, if you ever wanted to create your very own thing or learn how to add new things to the already existing mods, this is it.

Of course, it is definitely easier said than done but if you spend enough time looking through the stuff, you will find out that it's not that hard to use it.
