FIFA pro, Donovan "Tekkz" Hunt has signed up with British esports organization, Fnatic, to represent the team till the end of FIFA 2021.
In 2018, Tekkz won the first FUT Champions Cup in Barcelona. In 2019 he also won three out of six FUT Champion Cups, which makes him one of the best FIFA players on the globe.
Tekkz said in a statement regarding the signing:
“I'm truly excited to be part of Fnatic. Joining the biggest British esports team with such incredible facilities in London will provide exactly what I need to win my first World Championship."
Tekkz marks Fnatic’s entry into the FIFA Global Series. Before this signing, the organization competed in a strategic partnership with Serie A’s A.S. Roma under the name Roma Fnatic. The Roma Fnatic roster of Damian "Damie" Augustyniak and Nathan "Zelonius" Horton will continue under Fnatic management staff and facilities, but will now compete under the Roma Esports banner. The result should be fierce competition between the players and exciting matchups ahead.
Fnatic FIFA team manager, Colin Johnson, also commented on the signing:
“It has been an honor to witness his massive growth as a player and an icon within the FIFA scene. It's an even greater honor now to bring him even further along that path and help him win his first World Championship."
“As Fnatic, we are perfectly positioned to utilize our influence and resources here in the UK and Europe to push Tekkz's development to the next level. We genuinely cannot wait to see what the next years of Fnatic with Tekkz will bring!” concluded Johnson.
The FIFA pro will have his first event wearing the orange and black colors this weekend at FUT 20 Champions Cup R1 - Bucharest, which marks the start of this season's FIFA Global Series.
