It's finally here, the highly anticipated Tekken 7 patch with even more balance changes for Wing Chun master, Leroy Smith. The update is live, and patch notes are up for review.
Since his release last year, Leroy has become a gut punch to many Tekken fans the world over. His flashy powerful moves have been the cause of rage quits and torment both online and offline, which led to many in the community demanding significant changes while others left the game entirely.

Luckily, Bandai Namco took notice and agreed with the community. Leroy was just too strong, breaking the game's balance. They first released a couple of changes with version 3.20, but that didn't really do much, and now we have version 3.21, the one that will supposedly set things right.
Leroy's new batch of changes includes more damage reduction, reduced frame advantage, and a few other touches. This patch feels more like what fans had expected with the last update, but how good or bad the nerfs are can only be determined after a few days with the new Leroy.
Balancing fighting games is one of the hardest things to do, especially as the game's roster grows. On the other hand, fans of the character fear Leroy could become very weak as a result of the changes.
If all goes well, Leroy picks shouldn't be dominating tournaments the way they did at EVO Japan 2020. You can find the full patch notes here on Bandai Namco's website.
