TeamOne has forfeited their spot in ESL One: Road to Rio - South America due to coronavirus concerns.

TeamOne is currently in Los Angeles in their team house. TeamOne would have to travel back to Brazil in order to compete in the Road to Rio, given the regional restrictions. Alexandre "kakavel" Peres, the owner of TeamOne, released YouTube video detailing that doctors advised the team that returning to Brazil to compete in the Road to Rio wouldn't be a good idea, given the current circumstances. This has forced the Brazilian squad to forfeit their spot in the Road to Rio, leaving the final slot in the Brazilian region uncertain.

The Road to Rio for South America is set to begin on April 22 - 24 and will have a $10,000 prize pool.

The current teams for Road to Rio in the South America region are:

  • RED Canids
  • BOOM
  • Isurus
  • TBD

But, TeamOne is not out of the Road to Rio entirely. Perez stated that the team would try their hand at qualifying for the Major through the North American qualifiers, which has been given five qualifying slots for the Major. Their journey through the North American qualifiers will more than likely prove more challenging for TeamOne than the one for South America, due to losing their direct path.
