Riot Games return with mid-patch 10.8 for Teamfight Tactics, which continues their focus on buffing the weak over nerfing the strong. However, dominant compositions like Dark Star and Star Guardians did still receive nerfs.

The patch also introduces a new legendary champion, new Galaxies mechanics, bug fixes, and trait adjustments. Additionally, some mobile-specific changes were also made.

New champion

Xerath is a tier 5 Dark Star Sorcerer that joins the fray. With Abyssal Bombardment, Xerath can summon meteors that strike random enemies. It also does additional damage plus inflicts stun on all enemies adjacent to opponents that are killed in the initial barrage.

New mechanics

Trade Sector will give players one free reroll in each round, while Superdense Galaxy provides players a free Force of Nature after reaching level 5. There's even about a 50% chance of getting a special Galaxy vs. Normal game.

Traits

9 Blademaster, 9 Dark Star, 9 Rebel, 8 Sorcerer, 6 Infiltrator, and 6 Protector all receive new traits, while Celestial Heal, Sorcerer spell power, and Space Pirate item drop chance were slightly buffed. Mech-Pilot Super Mech saw changes to health and spell damage, and Cybernetic get a hit with nerfs to health and attack damage.

Champions

Of particular note here are nerfs to Lucian, Shaco, and Vel'Koz. A lot more champions were buffed, though, like Annie, Aurelion Sol, Caitlyn, Darius, Jinx, Xayah, and Zoe. Meanwhile, Raka and Fizz got a couple of adjustments.

Items

Chalice of Favor will now also grant mana to the holder, while Deathblade and Zeke's Herald were adjusted. Other items that received buffs include Frozen Heart, Rapid Firecannon, and Shroud of Stillness.

Others

Mobile changes made were mostly fixes and quality of life adjustments. At the same time, bugfixes ranged from issues with Super-Mech and Mech-Pilot to Kayn spawns and Cybernetic now correctly indicating its trait level.
