Team Vitality has confirmed the signing of former G2 Esports player, Richard "shox" Papillon in what it's calling the most expensive transfer in the organization's history.

Rumours of his transfer have lingered since StarLadder Berlin Major ended. The departures of Nathan "NBK-" Schmitt from Vitality and shox from G2 further fueled them, making this new signing no real surprise.

The two-year contract reunites shox with former Titan and G2 teammates, Cédric "RpK" Guipouy and Dan "apEX" Madesclaire. The rosters they played in went on to win several international tournaments from 2016-2017 for G2, so this could be the Vitality's attempt at rekindling that success.

The 27-year-old Frenchman replaces Nathan "NBK-" Schmitt on the team, with Alex "ALEX" McMeekin maintaining his position as an in-game leader. The deal was finalized just in time, since Vitality is due to take part in DreamHack Masters Malmö from October 1-6.

Vitality has a busy couple of months ahead of it as they will be competing in ESL Pro League which also begins in October. Then there's IEM Beijing that is scheduled to take place from November 7-10.
