Team Faceless and WarriorsGaming.Unity have qualified for The Boston Major through the Southeast Asian Regional Qualifier, after taking out Fnatic and Mineski on the way.

Faceless, the post-TI6 squad put together by Daryl Koh "iceiceice" Pei Xiang and Dominik "Black^" Reitmeier, had a flawless run through the qualifier, finishing the round robin group stage with an 8-0 record before taking out WG.Unity and Mineski with clean 2-0 sweeps.

WG.Unity redeemed themselves in the Loser's Bracket, beating Fnatic 2-1 in Round 1 and sweeping Mineski 2-0 in the Loser's Finals to qualify.

Fnatic's elimination will come as an upset given their fourth-place finish at The International in August. The team have since swapped out some of their players, bringing on three-fifths of the dynamic TNC Pro Team roster that made an unexpectedly deep run at TI. Their results at the Boston qualifier suggest Fnatic still has some work to do before the roster fully gels under the leadership of new captain Jimmy "DeMoN" Ho.

Fnatic's elimination also means The Boston Major will be the first Valve event without Chong Xin "Ohaiyo" Khoo and Chai "Mushi" Yee Fung since The International 2012.
