Team Empire failed to qualify to both the DreamLeague S11 Major and the StarLadder Minor to the disappointment of the fans and management. The sports director of the team Alexander "StrangeR" Solomonov expressed his feelings about the situation in social media.
Very sad, can’t express it through words. Nevertheless, no one can blame us for playing bad, everything the guys did for the last week is honorable, and I call it just the beginning. We’ll survive the loss and move on. Thanks to everybody for the support, I hope you’ll keep believing in us.
Team Empire used to be one of the best Dota 2 teams in the world, but after a peak in 2017, when it had a deep run at TI and the victory at ROG MASTERS 2017, it hasn’t shown bright results. Over the last two years, the management has taken a series of measures to reshape the squad, but it’s still not where it wants to be.
Come to watch WePlay! Dota 2 Valentine Madness today if you want to cheer and support Team Empire. They will be playing in the second series today vs. Winstrike in the first round of the upper bracket. The winners of the series will go on to face Ninjas in Pyjamas tomorrow.
