The famous Dota2 organization

Team Empire have revealed that they will be venturing into the CS:GO scene by signing the CIS team known as
Rebels.

The signing comes after a successful campaign by the squad in StarLadder Regional Minor Championship CIS where they had a chance to earn a spot at the MLG Columbus qualifer but came up short in the grand finals, losing to

Gambit. However, they earned $15,000 as runner-ups and drew positive attention to themselves.

The team also had a successful run in Rising Stars CIS #1 but came up short in the finals once again, losing to

Binary Dragons 2-1. The teams core has been together for somewhile and Denis "electronic" Sharipov was the latest addition to the roster, replacing Vladislav "arch" Svistov.

The teams biggest talents are Belarusian players Roman "CyberFocus" Dergach and Sergey "spaz" Skrypchik. They are joined by Alexander "spiker" Ivanov and Sharipov from Russia and the Ukrainian Ilya "fix" Golovko rounds out their roster.

"It is a big honor to be a part of Team Empre. We need to do a ton of work to reach the goals we set ourselves but we believe that with the help of our new organization we can do it." Ivanov said in a statement.

"We were in talks with Team Empire before the CIS Minor. I believe that our players showed themselves well in the tournament and I'm glad that Team Empire thought like that as well and now we are a part of it" added the team manager Zalilov.

Team Empire's CS:GO roster is:

  • Roman "CyberFocus" Dergach
  • Sergey "spaz" Skrypchik
  • Alexander "spiker" Ivanov
  • Denis "electronic" Sharipov
  • Ilya "fix" Golovko
  • Maxim "nirvana_sf" Zalilov - Manager

Dergach & co will have another chance at earning a spot at the MLG Columbus qualifier, as they will be participating in EU/CIS MLG Last Chance tournament which will host teams from both Europe and CIS and will grant two spots for the qualifier.
