The Japanese fighting game community has been showing Granblue Fantasy Versus a lot of love for the past couple of weeks, with players from different scenes competing in exhibition group matches. Thanks to Panda Global, North America had a little fun of its own with the popular fighting game.
Yesterday the NA Granblue Fantasy Versus 10v10 Crew Battle took place with fighting game pros proficient in Capcom and Arc System Works games. As you'd expect, the roster for each team was stacked, with many of the players able to play for either side. Some Marvel vs. Capcom players joined Team ArcSys instead of Team Capcom due to Granblue Fantasy Versus being an anime fighter.
Here's what the team lineups looked like;

The tournament was played on PC, with each team possessing twenty lives; that's two lives to each player. Right from the start, things did not look good for Team Capcom as ZomBmu took out eleven lives by himself, knocking Punk and Marn out of the tournament. Eventually, MarlinPie and SonicSol managed to end ZomBu's streak and pile on a few wins, but it was too little, too late. The NA Granblue Fantasy Versus 10v10 Crew Battle ended 16-0 in favor of Team ArcSys.

Considering Arc System Works developed the game and it has their usual fighting game DNA, Team Capcom’s defeat was always a strong possibility. However, the effects of online play should also be taken into consideration, since lag and disconnects did occur a few times.
