The Street Fighter V Server Twitter account posted a tweet alerting fans to an upcoming server maintenance period scheduled for February 18 between 4:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. PST. The message states, “January,” but this is likely a typo.
Considering Street Fighter V: Champion Edition launched a couple of days ago after a similar maintenance period, it makes you wonder what the purpose of this one is. Capcom wasn’t forthcoming with any more details regarding the maintenance, but popular speculation is that it could be in preparation for the promised netcode update we’ve all been expecting.
Following the release of a fanmade fix to the netcode issues that have plagued the game since launch, Street Fighter producer Yoshinori Ono made several announcements regarding an official fix. This assumption is based purely on speculation, so as things stand, we won’t know for sure until after the maintenance period has ended.
