In the middle of a huge deal for Street Fighter V on Steam, the developers revealed Kage (pronounced car-gay), a new playable character in the game. He is an evil version of Ryu driven by rage and anger who was created as the result of the events in Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition.

The opening scene of the trailer shows Ryu talking to Dhalsim. The mentor encouraged his student to express the anger inside him or face the grim consequences. Seems like Ryu really needed to heed the advice and work his anger out, since Kage was born after all.

Kage is basically what Evil Ryu was in Street Fighter 4 with his signature axe kick, but Capcom added some diversity to the character. For example, the hurricane kick rotates only once and delivers only one blow. The Hadoken (aka "Surge Fist" or "Wave Motion Fist") doesn’t create the usual fireball and works in a different manner.

You can check out the new sleek Kage moves in the video below.

The new character can be unlocked for 100,000 Fight Money or $5.99. According to Capcom, he is the beginning of a new content set that will be released with Season 5. With this new Season, the developers plan to take a different approach and shake things up. The exact details of Street Fighter V Season 5 will be announced soon.
