Thanks to the positive reception of Street Fighter V: Champion Edition and Season 4, Capcom has decided to give fans one final season of content before they call close the book on the popular fighting game.
In today's Capcom Unity blog post, the developer revealed that Season 5 will be bringing five more characters to the roster, three new stages, additional costumes and more. The good news doesn't end here though, as two lucky fans will also get the opportunity to design a new costume for their favorite characters.
The design contest is open to all and will allow fans to submit their designs for any of the game's existing roster of characters. The contest is already live and will remain open till July 21. After this deadline, Capcom staff will pick the best submissions and will let the community select their favorites on Twitter. The designs with the most votes will then be recreated and included in the game.
Voting will begin on August 17 at 10:00 a.m. PDT and end on August 31 at 11:59 p.m. PDT. The winners will be announced in early September, with both designers receiving a special in-game title. The contest guidelines can be found here. Capcom also shared a handful of concept art from the development team for Cody, Ed, E.Honda, G, Poison and Sakura. These creations should help kindle the creativity hiding within the game's fans.

Street Fighter V was released in February 2016, and although it had a rocky reception, the game managed to entertain players for over four years. Now at the tail end of its lifespan, the game will close out with a roster of 45, about two and a half times the size of the fighting game's lineup at launch.
More information is expected during the Summer and even with the absence of live events, Capcom still has a wide variety of options to reveal the new characters. EVO was always the customary place for big Street Fighter reveals, so EVO Online could pick any day during its five weekend run to share one or two Season 5 characters with us. However, there's also other events like IGN's Summer of Gaming and IGN Expo, Summer Game Fest and New Game+ Expo, to name a few.
Hopefully, Capcom will be able to end the Street Fighter V journey with a stunningly good finish.
