Steam — 2018 Year in Review

Steam — 2018 Year in Review ⚡⚡⚡ Esports and gaming news, analytics, reviews on WePlay! The latest news on WePlay!
Last year was very fruitful for Steam: the developers have shared impressive numbers of visits, active users and new customers:
The total number of games in the Steam Store has exceeded 30.000.
Valve has noted store's dynamic development in their report, and that's something difficult to argue with: there have appeared many useful tools in 2018 on this platform, such as lists of new products, filtering tools, updated chat, and additional payment methods. In addition, Steam is actively improving the technical part: DoS-attacks protection has improved, SQL-servers are launched, and they also constantly conduct platform security studies.
In the 2019 developers are planning to improve the recommendation engine and develop Steam.tv, turning it into a full-fledged video streaming service. The platform chat will receive its own mobile application; players will be able to receive information about potential fraudsters and cheaters; the store will begin its expansion in China thanks to the cooperation with PerfectWorld.
But there comes war. Valve will face competition from Epic Games, who are actively developing their own store. In any case, we, ordinary users, are only on hand: more promos, discounts, and sales.
