In previous years we saw StarLadder host many events in several games, including Counter-Strike: Global Offensive or Dota 2, but it has been some time to welcome world-class players from Hearthstone world compete on the StarLadder servers. According to the press release, Ukrainian-based tournament organizer has decided to fix this and for this year, the company will run a series of tournaments called StarLadder Hearthstone Ultimate Series.

The event series will have 4 tournaments (spring, summer, autumn and winter) where 16 invited players will be fighting for $25,000 in prize money.

The StarLadder Hearthstone Ultimate Series schedule for 2019 looks as follow:

  •  [Postponed]  - StarLadder Hearthstone Ultimate Series Winter
  •  May - StarLadder Hearthstone Ultimate Series Spring
  •  August - StarLadder Hearthstone Ultimate Series Summer
  •  October - StarLadder Hearthstone Ultimate Series Autumn

The format of the event will be standard Conquest Best-of-5 with 1 ban, while the 16 invited players will be split into two Round-Robin groups. Top four players from each group will then progress to the Double-Elimination Playoffs stage where they will clash for the champions trophy. Last but not least each tournament will take 14 playing days, while the organizer didn't announce any invited players yet.

The prize money will be split as follows:

  • 1st place – $10,000
  • 2nd place – $5,000
  • 3rd place – $3,500
  • 4th place – $2,000
  • 5-6th places – $1,000
  • 7-8th places – $500
  • 9-12th places – $250
  • 13-16th places– $125

StarLadder also promised that every tournament will be streamed in two language versions - Russian and English - on their Facebook page.
