Jake "Stewie2k" Yip has been released from Splyce, the rifler announced on Twitter Monday.

Heralded as one of the more prominent young talents in the North American competitive scene, Stewie2k thanked Splyce in a TwitLonger post and also mentioned that he would be headed to a "new home."

"I'd like to thank Splyce and the owner, Marty, for taking care of me during these short times," he said. "They treated me very well, especially at Toronto Lan. I'd also like to thank Jeremy9000, our manager, who have kept us up-to-date with our schedule, scheduling scrims & matches, making sure our flights were booked for Toronto, and reminding us daily about our agenda. I appreciate the time that I've been with you guys and it was awesome representing the colors of Splyce, but a new home awaits."

As a member of Splyce, Stewie2k participated in the Northern Arena tournament where his team made it through the group stages before falling short to Counter Logic Gaming in the semifinals.

Stewie2k and his teammates got their revenge on CLG in the first round of the "Road to Vegas" series, but fell to Enemy in the Round of Four.

Without Stewie2k, Splyce's current four-man lineup is as follows:

  • Alec "Slemmy" White
  • Steven "rooRoo" Herrell
  • Peter "ptr" Gurney
  • Adam "aKis" Kisseberth
