SPLYCE's players have decided to go their separate ways, the organisation's CEO, Marty Strenczewilk, has told HLTV.org.

The future of the former eLevate team had been thrown into doubt after star member Jake "Stewie2k" Yip decided to quit the roster to further his career elsewhere.

Last night, Steven "rooRoooo" Herrell took to Twitter to announce his departure from the team, with Peter "ptr" Gurney following suit this afternoon. The former CLG member thanked SPLYCE for sponsoring the team, who showed some promise but ultimately failed to qualify for the next season of the ESL ESEA Pro League.

Contacted by HLTV.org, SPLYCE CEO Marty Strenczewilk confirmed that the failure to secure a Pro League spot was a painful blow to the squad and revealed that the organisation will soon make another foray into the competitive scene.

"It's been an awesome run with all five members of the Splyce CS:GO squad over the last two months," Strenczewilk told HLTV.org. "We quickly showed that we were a force to be reckoned with in NA CS, and were winning and holding our own vs some of the top teams in the scene.

"Unfortunately, like many other games, CS is still a game where qualification in the main Pro league matters a lot to the health of the team. Despite having such awesome success in many of the events we played in, we unfortunately didn't qualify for ESEA Pro during relegations.

"As much as we would have loved to keep this squad together and move forward, everyone involved, including the players, agreed that it makes the most sense to move on and let the team dissolve. These are five extremely talented guys and I know they are all going to be key members of other squads throughout the Pro scene.

"And this isn't the last you've seen of Splyce in CS:GO. We'll have more to come on that soon. Thank you to all the great fans that have supported and continue to support Splyce as we grow - we are nothing without you!"

The following players are now free to sign for other teams:

  • Peter "ptr" Gurney
  • Alec "Slemmy" White
  • Steven "rooRoooo" Herrell
  • Adam "aKis" Kisseberth
