Spike Rush is VALORANT’s new mode designed for quick matches

VALORANT went live across the world today, bringing a little more than fans expected in the form of a new game mode. 

Spike Rush is a fast-paced mode that’s much quicker than VALORANT’s regular game mode. Players get to warm-up, test out crazy strategies, and generally have fun without all the stress associated with competitive play. 

The aptly named casual mode has all players on attack plant Spikes of their own, with teams swapped around every three rounds. Rounds and pre-rounds are also shorter, with the best-of-seven winning the game. Additionally, players on both teams are equipped with the same random weapon and all basic abilities are free for every round. Deaths and kills reward two ultimate points, while three to five special power-up orbs randomly appear on the map each round.
