Spacestation Gaming are Six Invitational 2020 Champions! ⚡⚡⚡ Esports news, analytics, reviews on WePlay! The latest news on WePlay!
It was a tough fight in the Grand Final, but here they are, Rainbow Six Siege Invitational 2020 Winners — Spacestation Gaming! Congratulations! The Hammer goes to where it all began — Northern America — alongside $1m assigned for the gold medalists.
Besides the Lower Bracket meeting, everything happened more or less as we have predicted. After beating Team SoloMid in the Upper Bracket Finals, SSG went into the Grand Final with a one map advantage which was fateful in the end (but we'll get back to it a bit later). At the other end, despite all our predictions, Ninjas in Pyjamas rolled over their opponents including the aforementioned TSM with no chances. In a moment, it even seemed that the Ninjas were able to defeat anyone and win the tourney at ease.
Let's take a look at the two main Six Invitational 2020 Grand Finals points. After that, you can read a brief review of what happened between SSG and NiP.
The Protagonist
Troy "Canadian" Jaroslawski has attended six LAN finals in two years with Evil Geniuses, his previous team, and won none of them. Imagine his will to achieve something after what he's been through?

The Brazillian Power
It was the first time for a complete Brazilian roster to get to the Six Invitational Grand Final and they did it in a cool and confident way. They only lost two maps this tournament: the first one was vs Team Liquid during the Group Stage and the second was vs BDS Esports in the playoffs.
Brazil's last hope.

Grand Finals
Ninjas in Pyjamas made it through very serious opponents and were all the way outstanding. G2, DarkZero, BDS and, moreover, TSM were considered strong teams, though the Brazilians showed their willingness and energy — NiP weren't a weak side either. Team Spacestation Gaming, on the other hand, was one of the main title contenders since Day One. They got to the last round with grace, having a one map advantage thanks to progressing through the Upper Bracket, but the Grand Final turned out not that smooth...

The last match of Rainbow Six Siege Invitational 2020 surprised everyone from the first minute. It seemed like Spacestation Gaming just lost their confidence and were feeling very nervous: starting pretty close, round after round, they've lost Villa 7-3. The second map, the Border, was a disaster for SSG. The Ninjas were just destroying their opponents in a pubbish bloodbath — SSG couldn't get themselves together, so, eventually, the map was lost 3-7 once again.
But then, the Clubhouse happened.

Ninjas in Pyjamas were on their way to the glory: 4-0 up ahead after easy rounds, they might have thought it was done. But SSG came back. It was 5-5 when SSG did a big brain tactic move to turn the series, winning 1v3 situation after planting the device. They also won the next round to make it 2-2. It was all about the decider — the Bank. The map felt like NiP just broke. And the old and great SSG woke up. A confident start, great moves, total outplaying — in the end, in the last map, no one would argue that Spacestation Gaming were worthy enough to win the Six Invitational 2020.

Bonus
It was reported that two pairs of headsets were slaughtered during the last day of SI2020.
