The SNK World Championship began in October 2019, with tournaments in Samurai Shodown and King of Fighters XIV. Now at the tail end of the series, the company has postponed the SNK World Championship JAPAN TOUR FINAL and the GRAND FINAL, which were meant to take place from February 29 - March 1 and March 28-29 respectively. SNK has stated that new dates will be announced once the situation has improved.
We understand that many people involved with this event, including the many fans out there feel let down. It is truly an unfortunate thing to happen, but we wish for your understanding and patience as we wait for this virus to clear up.
This year we saw qualifier tournaments held for SNK World Championship at big events like Casablanca World Fighters, Frosty Faustings XII, and EVO Japan. The next qualifier event is Vegas Cup 4, which will be held at Las Vegas this weekend, from February 29 - March 1.
SNK Corporation joins the growing list of companies and tournament organizers that are putting the well being of their staff, players and fans first in an attempt to prevent the spread of the deadly virus.
