SL i-League CS:GO Invitational is announced

The $100,000 tournament will take place in Kiev, May 19-22

Two months after the success of SL i-League StarSeries CS:GO Finals: Minsk, StarLadder and ImbaTV have partnered again for SL i-League Invitational.

Two months after the first ever CIS eSports tournament in the Minsk Arena stadium, companies StarLadder and ImbaTV announce a new series of competitions SL i-League CS:GO Invitational.

The prize fund of the first Counter-Strike: Global Offensive tournament will be $100 000, and the LAN Final with the participation of the strongest world teams will take place in one of the largest football stadium in Europe Olimpiyskiy National Sports Complex.

The tournament will feature eight teams fighting over a $100,000 prize pool. Three of the four invitees have been revealed, while four more teams will come from Europe and Chinese qualifiers:

  •  Luminosity Gaming
  •  Virtus.Pro
  • TBA
  • Winner of the European qualifier #1
  • Winner of the European qualifier #2
  • Winner of the European qualifier #3
  • Winner of the Chinese qualifier #1

Natus Vincere and Luminosity Gaming are two of the top teams internationally, with Na`Vi finishing in Top 4 at IEM Season X World Championship Katowice, while LG finished second to Fnatic at the same event. Virtus.pro are not looking as strong as they used to, but they eked out a Top 6 finish at IEM Katowice.

Dates for the qualifiers will be revealed in the coming weeks.

SL i-League Invitational will take place on May 19-22 at the Olimpiyskiy National Sports Complex in Kiev, Ukraine.
