Not so long ago, we already wrote that the community of fans of The Elder Scrolls series asked Bethesda to memorialise 82-year-old Shirley Curry in the next game. The developers didn’t leave the petition, which was signed by 50 thousand people, unattended. Shirley has long been "the oldest gamer on YouTube" in the world, and due to the warm attitude towards the audience, she has many fans.
And now, six months after this request, Bethesda released a video dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the TES series. In the video, the authors talked about previous games and about working on a new part of the series - and at the same time, they confirmed that Shirley would be in The Elder Scrolls VI (the information about the “grandmother” from 8:40). There she will appear as an NPC.
Shirley Curry became famous on YouTube when she was 80 years old. One day a video as she plays Skyrim appeared on her channel. After one of the viewers published this video on Reddit, Shirley received more than 11,000 emails with support from people from different countries the next day. She can be considered one of the oldest lets players in the world.
“Grandma Shirley” was transferred to the game due to photogrammetry technology - for example, the landscape is also added to the game with the help of it. In the anniversary video from Bethesda, you can see how Curry is photographed and scanned, after which a virtual copy of her is created as a 3D model.
Curry herself has already confirmed that this isn’t fake news, and a character based on her appearance will appear in the game:
By the way, Todd "Buy Skyrim" Howard, urged fans to be patient. According to him, TES 6 and Starfield is still too far from release, and they will not appear on the coming E3 2019.
