Skybound Ent. had terminated the contract with Starbreeze ⚡⚡⚡ Esports and gaming news, analytics, reviews on WePlay! The latest news on WePlay!

After a long development, weak advertising campaign and low release ratings, we are safe to say that Overkill's The Walking Dead was a big disappointment for the fans. As it turned out now, not for them alone.

Skybound Entertainment, founded by the co-owner of The Walking Dead trademark and the author of the original comic story script Robert Kirkman, has published an open statement that the contract with Starbreeze Studios was terminated and all the further promotion of Overkill's The Walking Dead shooter has been cancelled. It is not known whether other games within this universe were under this publisher's wing, but their fate is also extremely unenviable.

"We did our best to work with Starbreeze and resolve many issues that we saw with the game, but ultimately Overkill’s The Walking Dead did not meet our standards, nor is it the quality that we were promised. We are exceedingly sorry to our fans and share their disappointment in the game. We remain dedicated to providing our fans with the most premium quality content we can offer, and will continue to look for alternative video game options for the IP."

In their statement, Starbreeze Studios said the PC version of the game is going to be removed from sale in the near future, and that they are discussing the game’s promised 'Season 2' with Skybound.
