SK Telecom T1 have announced on their Facebook page that they have signed former ROX Tigers jungler Han "Peanut" Wang-ho.

The announcement confirms an earlier report from ESPN that Peanut would be joining the team after his departure from ROX Wednesday. Peanut was the last final player on ROX's lineup after the rest of the roster left earlier this week to seek new opportunities.

Peanut began his career as a jungler for NaJin e-mFire, joining the team in late 2014 as a substitute and practice partner and remaining with them until he turned 17 in February 2015 and was eligible for professional play. He spent most of 2015 as a backup for starting jungler Cho "watch" Jae-geol.

After the departure of ROX Tiger's original jungler, Lee "Hojin" Ho-jin, Peanut was acquired by the Tigers for the 2016 LCK spring season. He quickly made a name for himself as one of the best junglers in Korea, helping ROX win the 2016 LCK summer playoffs and place 3rd-4th at the 2016 World Championship. The Tigers lost in the semifinals to SKT.

SKT's acquisition of Peanut follows their decision earlier this week to release legacy jungler Bae "bengi" Seong-woong, who played with the organization for nearly four years. The team chose to re-sign secondary jungler Kang "Blank" Sun-gu, who will likely rotate with Peanut on their starting lineup.

With the re-signing of its core players and the addition of two rookies before KeSPA Cup, SKT's full 2017 roster currently includes:

  • Kim "Profit" Jun-hyung, top lane
  • Kang "Blank" Sung-gu, jungle
  • Han "Peanut" Wang-ho, jungle
  • Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok, mid lane
  • Bae "Bang" Jun-sik, AD carry
  • Lee "Wolf" Jae-wan, support
  • Kim "TaeHoon" Tae-hoon, support
