According to a Business Insider report, San Francisco police were on scene on Wednesday at Twitch headquarters, investigating a shooting threat.
"We were made aware of a threat against our San Francisco HQ on Tuesday, and have been working directly with law enforcement as they investigate," read a Twitch statement. "The safety and security of our employees is our top priority, and we are focused on ensuring this is resolved quickly and safely."
As a result, Twitch management advised its employees to work remotely from home. Speaking to Kotaku, an officer of the San Francisco police department stated that Twitch headquarters had been threatened multiple times between Tuesday and Wednesday, possibly by the same person.
No suspects have been named yet and the situation is not considered an “active threat,” but the police force's special investigations unit has been made aware of the situation.
