Newbee Dota 2 player Song "Sccc" Chun announced on Weibo that he will be taking a break from competitive Dota. In a lengthy post he shared how he blames himself for the team's poor performance this year.
Over the past couple of years, Newbee has seen relative success in the Dota 2 competitive scene, even winning The International 2014. However, this year the team hasn't done nearly as well.
Following a bit of personal evaluation, Sccc has come to the conclusion that the team's poor performance is as a result of his inability to play his best all year. In a bid to provide his teammates with a better chance next season, he has decided to leave the team.
His departure isn't planned to be permanent. He wishes to take a break, citing stress and teammate related issues as part of the reason why he was unable to play as expected. During his time off he hopes to try his hand at casting and becoming a talent, with his return to competitive play heavily dependant on his condition during this period.
Sccc has been inactive with the rest of the regular roster since July 24 which coincides with when Newbee acquired the Forward Gaming roster. Following its closure due to lack of funds, Newbee acquired the Forward Gaming roster to attend The International 2019 since it had previously managed to get in through the North America qualifier. They finished 9th-12th after losing to Infamous in the lower bracket r2.
