During the 2019 Overwatch League Grand Finals, San Francisco Shock defeated the Vancouver Titans in a 4-0 sweep.
In an exciting display of dominance, the Shock kept themselves ahead of the game throughout the series. Making use of their Mei-Bastion composition, they denied the Titans from taking even one map in the series.
Kim "Rascal" Dong-Jun's Mei and Park "Architect" Min-ho's Bastion made up the Shock's DPS line on map 2, consistently shutting the Titans down at every turn. They took the payload all the way to the end of the Eichenwalde map with three minutes to spare and only losing three kills to their rivals.
The Shocks had the superior team with four of its players very proficient in DPS with a variety of different heroes. The Titans had moments when one player would briefly take control of the map, but the Shocks played cohesively as a team. Quickly responding to the needs on each map, they always managed to use their versatility to their advantage.
The Shock is the only OWL team so far to achieve a golden stage, a flawless 28-0 in games during Stage 2. Owned by Andy Miller, the chairman and founder of NRG Esports, the Shock have joined the organisation's legacy of top tier competitors.
The season has seen the team take first to second place finishes across Stage 1-3, the Regular Season and now the Playoffs.
