Japanese Street Fighter player, Naoto "sako" Sako recently praised the new changes Capcom made to Kage in the last version update. In sako’s words, “His time has come.”
In a video posted by FGC Translated, sako displays the strength of Kage’s mid-screen combos, okis, and his ability to teleport twice in quick succession on block. Landing a flying kick on an opponent can lead to pretty devastating combos as Kage received a couple of buffs to his move set as well. sako compares Ryu’s dark persona to how Karin plays in the game’s previous version, stating how fun the character has become.
Sako failed to make it into the top 8 of Red Bull Kumite’s Last Chance Qualifier. The Capcom Cup 2013 (Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition) champion also finished 17th-24th in Capcom Cup 2019. However, with sako’s renewed love for Kage, Capcom Pro Tour 2020 could have us chanting Sako Combo quite a bit.
