A rumor that the Titanfall universe would acquire another game called Apex Legends appeared quite unexpectedly yesterday. According to TheQuartering YouTube channel, which has more than 420,000 subscribers, EA will release the free game Titanfall next Monday, February 4th.
An esports consultant, insider and competitive gaming leader Rod Breslau tweeted about the closed presentation:
Electronic Arts and Respawn Entertainment recently held a private presentation, where famous streamers were invited. It showed a new project in the Battle Royale genre in the Titanfall universe. The game may be released tomorrow for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
Apex Legends is built on the teams' battles consist of 3 players and based on the already known mechanics of the series. The maximum number of users on the server is 60 players.
Rod Breslau also added the information about the future game:
Various people who attended the event reported that “the game feels good” and they were “genuinely happy to see it.” Official comments from Electronic Arts has not yet been received.
Even the Kotaku editor Jason Schreier managed to confirm the information: he not only shared the already well-known details about Apex Legends in a short article but also spoke a little about the production of Titanfall 3.
According to him, Respawn initially intended to release the third part of the game at the end of last year. However, the developers decided that by the time of release the game would seem outdated due to the Source engine on which it was developed.
The game’s trailer is expected on Monday morning during the "Super Bowl."
