A report on Korean news site Fomos.kr states that Riot Games will be increasing the number of direct slots for each region in the upcoming League of Legends World Championship this fall.
According to their source, this change would be due to the cancelation of the annual MSI off-season tournament. If true, LPL and LEC leagues would receive a fourth slot at Worlds 2020.

The League of Legends World Championship 2020 is scheduled to take place this Fall in Shanghai. However, that’s all dependent on the global health situation by then.
