Romero Games joins forces with Paradox for a new strategy game

Yesterday, Paradox Interactive published an intriguing press release, which stated that John Romero’s studio Romero Games would be developing a brand new strategy game based on the original IP under the Paradox publishing label.

There’re no specific details regarding the title at the moment. It is worth noting that John Romero is best known for his contribution to the FPS genre (all that work for Doom, Quake, etc.), although he’s developed a huge variety of games throughout his career along with his wife Brenda. In other words, Romero Games is a studio with rich experience and expertise, and it’s undoubtedly interesting to see what the developers can do in the niche of strategies. Under the Paradox supervision, the mysterious game will most likely turn out to be exciting and worth of fans’ attention. It is safe to say that the company will lend its own expertise and resources to John Romero and his team.

With that in mind, Romero Games is only reliable due to the sheer fact that it’s been founded by John and Brenda Romero. In other words, the studio itself hasn’t released anything significant yet, and the newest strategy title seems to be the very first major release for the team.

Let’s hope Romero delivers, and the game turns out to be excellent – but there’re obvious concerns nonetheless.
