Roc Nation Sports has announced the signing of FIFA player, Mosaad "Msdossary" Al-Dossary as its first esports player.
The sports management division of Shawn "Jay-Z" Carter's agency made the announcement on Wednesday. The Saudi esports pro joins its list of football players which includes names like Eric Bailly of Manchester United, Kevin De Bruyne of Manchester City, and Romelu Lukaku of Inter Milan.
The 19-year-old won the 2018 FIFA eWorld Cup, becoming the second player from Saudi Arabia to take the crown. He beat Belgium's Stefano Pinna to earn the $250,000 prize. This year he lost to Germany's Mohammed "Mo Auba" Harkous in the two-match final which was held on August 4.
Roc Nation Sports International president, Michael Yormark said regarding the signing: "Mosaad has had incredible success in the FIFA and eSports world, and Roc Nation is proud to work beside him as his career continues to flourish. Mosaad is the perfect fit to be our first eSports client -- he brings the same drive and hunger for success to his sport that all of our athletes carry."
Msdossary also commented on the signing: "I'm incredibly excited to join the Roc Nation family. As I've gotten to know guys like Kevin De Bruyne and Jerome Boateng, it became immediately apparent that Roc Nation stands for everything I believe in -- a passion for greatness and a constant pursuit of success. Being a part of a roster that includes some of the best footballers and athletes in the world is very special to me."
Roc Nation Sports was founded in 2013 and has since added the likes of Saquon Barkley, the Los Angeles Rams and the New York Giants to its list of clientele.
