Riot Games, the studio behind League of Legends, has announced the opening of a new gaming stadium in the capital of the Republic of Korea. The venue, christened LoL PARK, is due to open its doors in early 2019 and will have a capacity of 500 audience members.

In lieu of a traditional stage, the LoL PARK will have a central open booth, allowing the viewers to sit in close proximity to the players. On top of that, all the action will be displayed on massive pendent jumbotrons, hanging over the competitors.

The venue is expected to host all LCK-related events in the future.

The first dedicated e-sports stadium ever to be opened in Korea was the MegaWeb Studio in the underground levels of the COEX Mall in Seoul, which hosted StarCraft tournaments run by OnGameNet
