Riot Games gives Echo Fox extension to resolve its ownership dispute ⚡⚡⚡ Esports and gaming news, analytics, reviews on WePlay! The latest news on WePlay!

60 days have passed since Riot Games told LCS franchise Echo Fox to take corrective action against one of its shareholders, Amit Raizada. After a review of the situation, the League of Legends developer has given the team a seven extension.

Riot Games made this decision after a series of reports of hate speech, threats and bigotry were made against Raizada. It was not originally stated that the shareholder be removed from the franchise's ownership, but since then it has become clear that this is the expected outcome.

This extension could mean one of two things. Echo Fox is close to getting the desired result and simply needs a bit more time to conclude matters, or it is just Riot's way of giving the franchise one final push. After all, failure to comply could lead to Echo Fox being banned from the League of Legends Championship Series. Raizada's behaviour violates LCS rules of conduct, which is why such a harsh punishment could be leveled on the franchise.

The closest situation to this the LCS has seen was in 2016 when the  popular caster and owner of Renegades, Christopher “Montecristo” Mykles was banned and given less than two weeks to find a buyer for the franchise.
