Following fan concerns about how long it takes to unlock agents in VALORANT and the current prices of gun skins, Riot released a blog post to address their fears.
According to VALORANT’s revenue lead, Joe Lee, agent progression will be sped up by launch. He admitted that it is currently too slow and waiting on weekly missions to accelerate things just isn’t ideal. Progression will be sped up by reducing the overall amount of experience points required for each character contract level. Weekly missions will also remain, to give players that extra XP boost.
As for weapon skins, Lee stated that the current problem stems from the fact that the cosmetics on offer right now are too few and as a result, don’t meet the needs of every type of player. Riot plans to release many more skins, from premium minimalistic designs to skins with special animations and lower-priced offerings. The developer intends to cater to all tastes.
Its always good to see a developer that cares about their game, their community, and encourages feedback at every opportunity. Currently scheduled for a Summer release, VALORANT still has time to fix its flaws but the game’s reception so far speaks volumes about how well Riot has done.
