Last week, Respawn Entertainment presented a tentative list of what they plan to fix in upcoming updates for Apex Legends. And of course, among the most serious problems, the developers mentioned resisting cheaters. Now the studio staff is ready to concretize the methods for solving this problem.
In a message on Electronic Arts' official website, project manager Drew McCoy provided news about the recently added reporting toolkit that will help the team more effectively identify dishonest users.
This tool allows identifying cheaters that are not yet part of the active anti-cheat mechanisms. Since the appearance of the function, it has blocked 770.000 players, over 300.000 additional accounts and 4.000 spammers selling unofficial software. The total number of cheaters was reduced by half over the last month, thanks to the efforts of not only Respawn but also other experts from Electronic Arts. The list includes representatives from DICE, FIFA, Capital Games, Origins and Easy-Anti-Cheat.
