The Apex Legends community has recently datamined a ton of information regarding the possible upcoming new heroes and gameplay mechanics, and many of us believed we were going to see the first piece of new content yesterday – because of the obvious (and pretty much confirmed) leak in Origin. Unfortunately, nothing happened, and Respawn decided to reach the fans.
In a small post, published on Reddit, the developers decided to clarify the situation with all the leaks. While not straight out denying the credibility of the dataminers’ findings, Respawn was open enough to call into question some of the information that was found in the Apex Legends’ files. In other words, the leaks regarding new heroes and mechanics might – or might not – be true as there’s a lot of stuff left in the code of Apex Legends that was prototyped at some moment in the past but was abandoned later. There’re also things that might alter drastically since the development is an ever-changing process. As a conclusion, Respawn recommends waiting for the official information to come out because it’s the only credible source the players can rely on.
In regards to Octane, the developers said that the information about the new Legend, the Battle Pass and new content is coming soon and will be shared once Respawn is ready.
