It’s been two weeks since the release day of Control, and Remedy Entertainment is already sharing its plans for future content for the game. It turns out that a small group of developers within the studio has already started work on post-launch content, and we can expect proper additional Control experiences in 2020. The information is available in Control Community Blog via the link.
While story expansions are expected next year, the first batch of additional content is coming in 2019 – and it’s a much-needed official implementation of Photo Mode. You have to admit that Control’s stunning visuals, style, design, and architecture are worthy of artistic shots – and that’s exactly what we are getting soon. The next addition is a new game mode Expeditions, which is going to be free for all of the owners of the game and will offer new, tougher challenges in the Oldest House. Finally, some proper additional content will be represented by two huge expansions – The Foundation and AWE – coming in 2020. They are going to be paid, which is fairly reasonable, and will add not only new story content but also new mechanics, enemies, etc.
The Foundation will focus on a new task for Jesse – to explore what’s beneath the Bureau. The devs warn that the things might get weird, and it’s a bold statement given that Control is exceptionally weird as it is. AWE will send Jesse to the Investigations Sector where various Altered World Events are being closely examined by the Bureau. The exact release dates are yet to be confirmed.
