Registration for Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympics tie-in event, Intel World Open is now live. Featuring tournaments in Street Fighter V: Champion Edition and Rocket League, players from all over the globe (yep, including Africa) will be able to sign up and compete for the chance to represent their country in the international tournament.
Street Fighter players will not only be in the running for a $250,000 prize pool, but participants will also receive 20 Fortune Tickets, four special Dojo items, and the “eSports Athlete” in-game title. Registration is currently open for only the first phase of the online qualifiers.
Street Fighter V: Champion Edition fans have experienced mixed results since Capcom released its recent netcode fix, with some having even a harder time playing online. Hopefully, all regions will receive updates that will permanently fix the problem before their matches commence.
So from this point on, victory will be determined by player skill and the game’s netcode.
