Rockstar Games officially announced that Red Dead Redemption 2 is getting an online mode. Makes sesnse that multiplayer part got the name “Red Dead Online” and described as “an evolution of classical multiplayer mode from the original game”. It still will combine a story telling part with cooperative and competitive experience where players will be able to explore the world both solo and with their friends.
Red Dead Online will come out a bit later than the singleplayer game, in November of 2018. Before launching the game, developers plan to run an open beta test that all RDR 2 owners will be invited to.
Fans of the studio’s creations don’t need to worry as Rockstar Games assured they’re going to support and develop the online part on a regular basis, including fresh content updates and checking the game mechanics. Rumors about multiplayer mode in the new project were around the web for a long time. Based on them, many thought the sequel will have three versions with multiplayer right away: team Deathmatch, cowboy-stylized Money Grab, where you need to steal more money than others, and their own Battle Royale.
Red Dead Redemption 2 will be out on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on October 26 of this year.
