Introduction
Red Dead Redemption 2 is an excellent game where you do many exciting things. This is expected because the game is made from the same developers that created Grand Theft Auto, one of the best games ever made.
There are various weapons that you can use in order to fight in this game. One of them is a bow, and it is capable of doing pretty decent damage, especially once you get good with it. Unfortunately, there is only one bow that you can use right now, which kind of limits your choices. In fact, this is very strange because there are tons of other weapons such as pistols, knives, and more.
Despite that, the Longarm Black Bow (that's how its called) remains of the most influential and most versatile death-deliver in the game. Another very distinctive thing about this bow is that it can't be upgraded, unlike the other weapons. However, you can still make it more powerful because you can improve the arrows.
Getting the Bow
You will be able to get your hands on the Longarm Back Bow very early on. However, keep it in mind that sometimes you might not even notice that you have in your inventory. If that's the case, remember to check the stash you have on your horse because it could be there. When you find it, you need to press L1 in order to equip it.
Of course, you will start the game with your stock arrows, which are still pretty good for the essentials. For instance, you can kill a lot of animals and sell their pelts or just kill someone from a distance. However, once you progress enough through the main story and you get your hands on the special arrows, things will become a lot more interesting because you will do a lot more damage.
Upgrading the Arrows in Red Dead Redemption 2
Let's take a look at the different upgrades you can get to your arrows. Keep it in mind that even though some of them are harder to get, that does not always make them better. After all, a specific type of arrow is suitable for the particular type case.
The Improved Arrow
As the name suggests, this is basically an improved version of the ordinary arrow. This means that it does more damage and flies faster, but that's pretty much it. You can get it once you begin Chapter 2.
The Small Game Arrow
Unlike the previous one, this arrow can only be obtained through crafting. When you get it, you can use it to kill different small animals that are otherwise hard to kill using your regular arrows.
The Fire Arrow
This arrow does a lot of damage, and you can get it in two ways - either random during Chapter 2 or just buy them.
The Dynamite Arrow
This arrow is kind of similar to the fire one, but it does a lot more damage. Naturally, you can get your hands on it a little bit later in the game - during Chapter 3. The best use you can get out of those arrows is to do AoE damage when you need to fight multiple enemies at once.
The Poison Arrow
Last, but definitely not least, we have this arrow that can be bought from a fence once you pass Chapter 2. It does a lot of damage-over-time against humans and animals, which makes it very useful in certain tricky situations.
Remember to try out different arrows so that you can find the one that truly suits your needs!
