Recon is the most used Specialist in Black Ops 4 multiplayer

Treyarch has recently shared an interesting insight on Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 overall multiplayer performance regarding a particularly curious piece of statistics. It turns out that the most popular Specialist in the game is the one belonging to a support class. It’s not only about shooting enemies after all.

Funnily, the most frequently picked Specialist is Recon. Why is it so hard to believe in? Well, Recon indeed is a support character whose main weapons are not weapons at all. Recon doesn’t have a unique gun, but instead, he is armed with a number of useful abilities which contribute to his team’s efficiency. One of the most helpful abilities is marking enemies through walls, and this legalized wallhack is an undisputable must-have for any team. While it is hard to argue that Recon brings in some much-needed variety, it is still surprising that the Specialist is the most used one.

As Dot Esports notes, this might be due to the fact that professional gamers demonstrate high interest in this particular Specialist. Moreover, during the recent CWL Las Vegas event Recon was the most popular pick as well, which in turn could’ve contributed to the Specialist’s popularity among common players.
