Rainbow Six Siege development team shared a video with Year 4roadmap of Year 4, including planned updates for balance, matchmaking and social aspects of the game. They also announced the Major esports events, scheduled for the upcoming seasons. Check out the video for the details.
In this video, the brand director at Ubisoft Alexandre Remy described how R6S team has reshaped to address various tasks game more effectively. He described the different subdivision as “cells” that tackle different sets of problems:
Event cell. Members of the cell are focused on releasing a new map and rework three existing ones this year. They also are engaged in different tasks, that will improve the overall experience for the players.
Operator Cell. The cell will release eight new operators this year. They are also reworking the existing ones to keep the game both fresh and balanced.
Player Behavior Cell. This team is addressing problems of toxicity, leaving, teamkill and so forth. The Test client of R6S will soon get a new feature called “reverse friendly fire,” that mirrors damage inflicted on the ally.
Playlist Cell (matchmaking). This team will soon introduce a noob-friendly mode with a limited amount of maps and Operators to help new players get accustomed to the mechanics of R6S. Changes are coming to the existing modes as well.
One of the most exciting announcements of this video is a pick and ban phase coming to the Ranked Matchmaking mode. This change is launching at the beginning of season Season 2.
Finally, we are so glad that we can bring that awesome piece of gameplay, of tactic, of choice that Pick and Band is, in Ranked.
As usual, there will be four Major R6S events across the world, and the first one is starting in Italy in May. The action will shift to NA in April, to Asia in November and to Montreal for the Six Invitational 2020 in February.
