The bosses of the French studio Quantic Dream were accused of creating an unhealthy working atmosphere last year. French media reported about a very sick working atmosphere reigned in the company. David Cage and Guillaume de Fondaumière allegedly misbehave, force employees to work beyond the usual number of working hours and create a toxic environment with sexist and racist jokes.
According to Eurogamer, 600 dubious creations have accumulated in Photoshop since 2013 in the Quantic Dream bins. The strangest of them depict workers of Quantic Dream in sexual positions, accompanied by sexist or homophobic curses, and sometimes even made Nazis from the colleagues. Eurogamer reported that this collection leaked beyond the company in early 2017, when the Quantic Dream IT manager became the subject for controversial jokes - and it was then that they brought charges against the founders of the studio.
The French association Solidaires Informatique announced that they have information about sexual harassment and violence in Quantic Dream. SI investigates the allegations and encourages victims to testify. Game Workers Unite, an international organization protecting the interests of gaming industry workers, joined the call.
“These offenses are extremely serious and are punishable by law, however they seem to be repeated with impunity for several years because of a strong omerta, this must stop.”
