PUBG Lite free beta is now available ⚡⚡⚡ Esports and gaming news, analytics, reviews on WePlay! The latest news on WePlay!

PUBG Lite open beta-test started today. This edition is fully free and oriented first of all on weak PCs that previously could not cope with required powers. Only the first Erangel map is available to play on — and only with a third-person view. There are no restrictions on single/paired/team matches. The developers have already stated that they are interested in adding new locations and modes to the Lite version in future, so, with a certain probability, the game will be able to offer most of the content from the purchasable version. But unfortunately, we shouldn't expect this kind of release for consoles in the near future. We remind you that PUBG is free for all Xbox Game Pass subscribers.

Nevertheless, devs made a decent move — it will bring many new players, encouraging them to either purchase the full version or invest in microtransactions. It definitely makes the game much more accessible, and therefore more popular. Fortnite succeded with it long ago.
