PUBG Corp. has shared the recent news today in regards to the improvements that are about to be applied to the game. Right now, you can hit the test servers on PC to see all the changes that are outlined in this article – and even more. To access the test servers, you need a separate client in the Steam library.

The main addition is the introduction of Weapon Mastery – this new mechanics provides players with a proper weapon progression system, which grants rewards for impressive performance and improving their skill. Mastery is represented by a dedicated in-game menu where you can find all the stats regarding specific guns and view the progress towards the next level. The weapons are divided into categories so that you don’t get lost in the diverse arsenal. You can gain up to 100 levels for every weapon – and each time you achieve five more levels, you are rewarded with a so-called Charm, new weapon accessory that cannot be traded, sold, or turned into BP. These cosmetic options can be viewed during the game, and they look a hell lot like the ones in Rainbow Six: Siege.

It is worth noting that Charms seem to be real quality cosmetics – unlike some of the lazy weapon skins. Head on to the PUBG’s official website for more information and detailed patch notes, and there’s even a dedicated to Weapon Mastery article.
